Forest Snow and Landscape Research

Forest Snow and Landscape Research

is a journal of the Swiss Federal Research Institute WSL.

The main focus of the journal is on original research but reviews of recent developments are also considered.

There are three issues per year. Scientists from all countries are invited to publish original work and review articles on: Global environmental change and ecological risk analysis, Environmental history, conservation and protection, Environmental monitoring, Forest functions, resources and management, Forest ecology, Biodiversity and wildlife, Genetics, Movements of water, earth and rock, Fundamental aspects of snow and avalanches, Natural hazards and risk management, Landscape dynamics and management and Socio-economic aspects of land use.

We welcome guest editors for special issues devoted to specific themes either in the form of collected articles or as single extensive contributions. Suggestions for topics should be sent to the Editorial Board. All manuscripts submitted to this journal are peer reviewed and there are no page charges.

Until 1999 the Journal was published under the name «Mitteilungen der Eidgenössischen Forschungsanstalt für Wald, Schnee und Landschaft». The first issue under the new name is therefore numbered Vol. 74, Issue 1 and not Vol. 1.
